But this is WW2 and the russians and americans were allies and the japanese were the enemy along with the germans, yet the americans attack the russians and dont attack the japanese

Russians and Americans maybe were kind of "Allies" but don't forget that early in the war before "Great Patriotic War" Soviets have sided with Germans.
But welp, you can change hostility in the editor, look for the upper tabs, they should have a option here, not sure under which one it was though.

Germans are on the blufor because this mod wanted to be compatible with iron front (i think)... Iron front made the Germans Blufor because the main story had the main character as a german soldier.... Not to mention that in world war 2, Germany and Russia where the two clashing countries, and the united states was just an independant third party.

You are not a "third party" if without your support two major factions would wither and die,
You are not a third party if someone directly attacks you, you are not a third party if someone declares war on you, like it or not, this was an American war.

America declared war on Germany, Europe was not our war. We were going to be isolationists but the Nips attacked us since we taken their oil away. Hitler also did not want war with America.

I studied WWII and what i can say is that the allies (Britain, russia, and the US) were fighting against the axis (Germany, italy (until a change in leadership) and japan)
There was no third party side, when japan attack pearl harbor, the US declared war on japan, and then Germany declared war on the United States a long with other axis powers, therefore the US Was in the allied side as they did not declare war on russia and England

Anyway just to go back to the point, it's better to just leave them as independant for the fact you can have them fight with russians or germans. I enjoy doing US vs Russia scenarios.
