why? thats valves job if they care or not, but really if the creator did make a COMPLETELY new model for a specific weapon it would be a waste. besides, it looks fine.

Pretty sure animations isn't Valve's job to make. There's no reason to not make an animation and go that extra bit when you've already made a decent model.

Using the axe animation for a chainsaw is a joke.

I don't see why they wouldn't, i mean if the pyro update comes with new weapons we might see new animations for those weapons. Dota gets new animations and all sorts of stuff when good things are added.

You say that like it's an easy thing. I can't help but imagine that that's easier said than done.

You act as if pyro is swinging an axe normally too, I mean, if you went to slash someone with a fire axe, would you go for the overhead strike? It's much harder to pull off, and since pyro can, why wouldn't they also do the same for a chainsaw?

I agree. Team Fortress 2 isn't exactly a very realism-obligated game. Swinging a chainsaw like a club is actually fair game in my opinion.

At any rate, I'd say it's a bit more sensible than riding the momentum of an explosion to soar forty feet in the air and survive the landing.

Yeah, they don't even know how to use a flare gun right, you shoot it into the sky to alert people of your location, not burn people, but WHOOPDEDOO LETS GO SET SH*T ON FIRE because Pyro is Pyro.
