[bug?] Companion not using ranged weapons
I have Sarah the Fox allocated to the "cavalry archers" group. I have first equipped her with a bow and arrows and later with a crossbow + bolts as secondary weapons, but she does not use any of them. Looks like a new bug, since it didn't happenin older versions.

Make sure the bows and xbow can be used on horse back. Ive never ran into this issue so far.

Neither have I, but it's very clear from the weapons description if they can or cannot be used from horseback, so they have the correct items equiped.

try to use the command tool weapon use then hit ranged weapons

Julia and Sigismund for example have crossbows that are not usable from mounts.. these crossbows are too heavy to use properly. The mod has been like this since 1.0 in December 2008. The only crossbows that are available from horseback are maiden, hunting or light crossbows.

Right, she's got a hunting crossbow, she's still too weak to carry a larger one, so ... ?

Is the unit designated horse archer or cavalry? If it is the latter, then they act in a melee fashion...

As I said, I assigned her to the horse archers group. Never had that behaviour before.

I've noticed the horse archers always want to spam change their weapons regardless of distance from foes... almost feel like default horse archer AI from kerghit horse archers was better sometimes...
