Make it a little more beat up. It will fit with the Rust theme. Looks cool but we need a little wear on it. Looks awesome tho man!
Also the mag looks a little clunky...

Wear and tear was my next goal. It has some minor cosmetic damage, it is easier to see if you view it in game/not in a screen shot. That being said I have plans for some more noticable damage.

Honestly, probably the easiest ways to improve this skin is to reduce the glosiness for the specular map and to add some contrast to the bolt carrier and magazine. Good attempt though man, especially for one of your first uploads.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's experimenting with replacing metal elements with wood on weapons and that they're recieving so much positive traffic. :)

I dont belive it needs any wear and tear that takes away from the uniqueness/autheniticity of the skin but I think it would be cool if somehow more of the stock is wood, my idea is the grey park betweed the black part and the actual gun

The mag looks too large, and it doesnt really fit the rust theme atm, but if you made it a bit more worn it would be dope!

@UberSneakySnake The mag is the same size as every other ak in the game, I only changed the textures, making it smaller would create transparent holes in the gun.

i was kinda hoping it would have the look of a pristine AK-47 new out of the box as opposed to an old rusty one which is kinda what i feel like the regular ak in rust already is.

@Mike Brown according to a post by facepunch, they prefer the skins to be more beat up rather than pristine. Sorry! :/

Make the wood have scratches and all that wear stuff, and the metal have some rust, to show some age. Otherwise, great job!
