just because you dont like one thing it doesnt mean he will change the entire mod, he probably wont even care if you stop using it for that reason

You could instead have asked him to make the key choosable.

I don't think it's going to be possible to make a feature where you can rebind the execution key to anything you like, because it's a mod, not a feature built into the game. So that won't work, but I also have a lingering thought, "what if he makes it so that you can set the key to whatever you want and let it stay like that forever", there are two ways this won't work, #1 It won't stay forever because the mod resets every time you close the game or unload the mod, #2 If you want the mod to remember the binding you set to open the menu, you will need to set up a memory system, and since this is a mod and not a separate program, this will not be a viable solution.
