I NEED YOUR IDEAS FOR SNAP POINTS (no rafts/saddle)
Please tell me, what snap points do you want for future updates?

I've got a few,
- Snap points to crop plots to attach water taps and or pipes to, I would put them them in the corners and/or center edges.
- Snap points in walls for cables and pipes to hide them.
- Snap points for tree platforms, or do they fall under the rafts/saddle category?
- Snap points for pillars on top of Foundations snap locations same as the crop plot suggestion.

Is it possible to to add snap points to inclined pipes/cables to change the angle of the pipes, make it a two step process, first click locks it on the X axis and allows to set Y axis?

Hopefully these are the kind of ideas you are looking for.

The idea with the cables for a two way placement are good, but not possible with this mod but my builders helmet mod or similiar.
Treeplatform are possible, i am just working on it.
With the cables and pipes i need to test what is possible, because they should also snap together.

Can you do what you did with the cables with the pipesworks pls that would be great
Grebog  [开发者] 2017 年 2 月 10 日 下午 3:02
it should also work with all straight and intersection pipes.

In terms of positional snapping: top left, top center, top right, middle left, middle center, middle right, bottom left, bottom center, bottom right (per each snapping plane). Not sure how this would work out with pipes/cables however, the rotational snapping per every 5 degrees seems sufficient.

So I do not chech all of the things but nice would be:

-Snappoints for dinosaurgates on foundations, ceilings or to walls. (maybe same for Behemoth?)
-Snappoints for crop plots on foundations, ceilings
-Snappoints for stacking foundations down

Crop plot snapping to foundations and ceilings is needed bad, it is so hard to build an OCD approved garden on the roof of a base right now... I litterally build 400-700 plots to get them to all line up :|

would it be possible to have snappoints for placables like a smithy and a fabricator?

A purely cosmetic idea here: But what about snappoints along the bottom edges of ramps / sloped roof pieces for pipes, to act as gutters? Or along the outside of the edges of walls for similar reasons, to use pipework as a frame of sorts that you might see in some architecture?

Snapping for preserving bins and compost bins like you did for boxes - most of my structures' interiors are two walls tall, and being able to stack preserving bins into upper and lower cabinets would be exemplary. Compost bins, when I use them, takeup a crazy amount of space - stacking them (preferably ignoring the open lid and snapping directly to the box frame) would go a long way toward cleaning my barns up.

Edit: 45 degree angle connections for foundations. Making towers and boats, we're always having to do tricks with fence foundations and pillars to get foundations to snap in with a 45 degree turn - give us a snap point for foundations that runs kitty corner.

Edit again: Tables. Watching a build video where the builder complained that tables won't sit together flush, so when making a long banquet table you always have a gap where you try to connect two tables. Throw in some extra snap points so we can connect tables not just end-on-end or side-by-side but in a 90 degree snap on the end for hallowed out square formation for banquets and such, or at 45 degree angles at the end for hexagonal table arrangements.

Edit of the edit of the edit: Alternate snap for the boxes that reverses their facing. I can't have large storage boxes sitting back to back or looking right sitting on opposite side of a wall with the current snapping.

Can you put a snap point for ceilings onto the side of a foundation (to make a balcony) so that it doesnt look like a 'step' the way vanilla snap point is?
Also, when attaching a pillar to the underside of a ceiling the top part of the pilllar sticks through the ceiling.
Seconding this. This is my #1 request. Also step up/down points on pillars so you can lower or raise a foundation easier.

I tried to build a great wall using your mod (fundation on bottom, wall go up one side, top, and then put wall going down the other side). The wall is bascilly meant to be 4 level high. As the ground is not flat, from the top I put on wall facing the wall direction (down or up compared to the top) and then put a new top.
(new sentence) From that new top I then go down both side of the wall (I cannot go up from the new fundation because it is not the same level as previous fundation)

Seems great until I found there are a small (one wall width difference) between the wall snaping to the top and the wall snaping to the bottom (the fundation).

I hope the description is understandable ...

There are must be something wrong somewhere with the snappoints, and I believe it come from vanilla snappoints (which is why I talk about it here and not as a bug report).
(new sentence) I believe the top snap to the outside of the wall instead of the inside => when you put a top over wall you ant it to snap on the outside of the wall. when you put a top on the side of a wall, you want it to snap to the inside !!!

(edited sentence) Not sure if you can add inner snap the the wall / top to solve this issue.

Anyway my greatwall will look good from a distance, but not perfect (from close) :/

edit: added information about how I go down from the new top and why

yes, you are right, those snap points are vanilla snap points. you have to be carefull, which snap points you are using. for this issues ark has the "toggle snap points" implemented (i think).
Press Q for forward stepping through the snap points and Z or Y (i forgot) for backword stepping.
So you can find the right snap points.
He11cat 2017 年 3 月 10 日 下午 9:10
maybe make the gates snap to foundations, or to different points of fence foundations, like in the middle
He11cat 2017 年 3 月 16 日 下午 4:10
one thing i hate in ark is that doors don't sit flush if you use a different type of doorframe. there is an annoying gap, or they sit too far out from the doorway. maybe make it where they line up?
