Try putting water bottles on their allowed apparel, or required loadout, (depending on mods).

You have a mod confliction. That has never happened to me once.I'd be looking at any stack or stockpile mods you have and play around with the mod order.

Combat Extended doesn't allow you to put water in the pawn's inventory, sadly.

Thats not true im using CE for months and i was always able to do that. You can even add it to ur loadout and specify how many bottles should they carry around

I wish there was a job type in which you could tell colonists to produce and store water. I have to do that manually (by right clicking any water source and queue Fill Water x20, for example).

Besides, if you're not using CE, you can change this setting in DBH's settings page, if you use CE, you make individual load outs for your colonists and include "Water".
If you have CE and have Nothing as their loadouts, colonists default yo DBH's setting.
