A bit confused on setup
Do I need input pipes from the water tower and output pipes to the sewage outlet? I'm not sure how to get input and output pipes on the same toilet without them connecting.

there is no input and output, its all just 1 pipe net, you just need everything connected

yeah its a very cool way to play, opposite from electricity where you are encouraged to make different grids to avoid zzzt, and also distinct from central climate controls handling of air networks which are only supposed to hold 1-3 intake fans. With bad hygiene all your bathrooms should be connected.
