Soviet Union Singleplayer tips?
I've been trying for the longest time beat Germany as the USSR and it just seems impossible. No matter what I try the Axis is always able to consistently push my divisions back until they have more divisions than me and end making the front so broad that it just stalemates. What are some good division templates that can man the entire front and not be constantly pushed back?

In some mods, the AI has a bad habit of spamming out ridiculous amounts of units. This can very easily lead to stalemates, but I would say the two most important factors in breaking them are tanks, but definitely air superiority. You NEED CAS/Tac bombers to remotely attempt breaking the AI's 1 trillion divisions. If they constantly have the edge over you, try using AA in your divisions as well.

I seek answers to this as well. USSR is so heavily punished in this mod

Engineers, motorcycle recon, AA, HQ, signals, plus logistics as needed. One battalion of medium tanks. 14 battalions of infantry of some kind.

It has good organization, logistics, AA, recon, entrenchment, armor, and piercing. decent breakthrough and hardness. Average cost and reinforce rate. low hard attack. very low soft attack. poor in specific terrain. I wouldn't use it for breakthrough, exploitation, amphibious landings, or in specific terrain, but for holding the line it does a good job.

Keep in mind that generals, field marshals, abilities, traits, terrain, entrenchment, planning, organization, shore bombardment, air superiority, and close air support are all very important.

Please let us know if you have feedback or bug reports on the new enhanced soviet tree. Over 15 new focuses were added!

Playing on normal in September 1942 in my current Soviet Union game. Already pushed back to Berlin after only losing a little bit of land and most of the baltic states to Germany in their initial push. While I couldn't get air superiority the number of divisions they attacked with was rather small and lacked good armor support. I managed to push back effectively with 200 inf + cav and 30 tank divisions split into two armies. I really enjoy the focus tree but sadly locked myself out of "Stalingrad Area Development" and the good tank factories. I spent too much time building forts and by the time I started the Third Five Year Plan, I was at war and lost the plan buff. Still, I'm a powerhouse and enjoyed the tree, I'll just need to play on a harder difficulty next time.

I do think the electronics debuffs are a good idea and do make it fun not being able to see what focus the Germans are working on.

Edit: Haha, spoke too soon. April of 1943 and I'm pushed back to Warsaw. Deployed the guards rifles but don't have the specialty equipment to reinforce them. Looks like these scorched earth decisions are about to come in handy though. The volkstruum and total war nation spirits really saved Germany there.
