Hearts of Iron IV

Total War Mod

The Build Window is missing Resouces and some other stuff
This is my first hard core go-thru with Total War. I will be playing Germany and I am still on Day 1. With that said, here are some things:

1) Inf Equip uses 0.5 Tungsten. GUI does not have any in the que or in the Build window. (Not sure what else to call these two windows)
2) Armored Car in the Build window only lists 3 resources (probably a space issue with GUI), but no matter, it does not show the 1 Chromium.
3) Unless something is wrong with the math, no one in their right mind would build Rail Artillery. If you do the math on the GUI, Heavy Arty is vastly superior to Rail in every way and Rail costs a crap ton.
4) I see practically everything needs Tungsten now and Sweden now appears to be the King of Tungsten.., will 100% prioritize what goes on there.
5) Paris has 16 Rubber.., that will come in handy.

Thank you devs for this.

Hi thx for your input. Yes the GUI is designed for 3 resources from vanilla .. perhaps we can change that in the future someday. The rail artillery being support unit is a bit misleading, its bonus is supposed to be given to whole division regardless of type and number of battalions ( which is the difference between line units and support units ). The line units stats will be averaged out by effect / number of line battalions. That said I earlier suggested that the rail arty should be a line unit to avoid that confusion.

Still only in February 1936 and just looking things over. (1) The Movement and Attack modifiers for Light Tanks are NOT in the Tank Research Screen. But you can find them when you go into the Divisional templates. The Czech armor also has no stats. I cannot build it yet, but I assume the Divisional template will reflect that.

(2) The Pz 3 and Pz 4 are literally clones of each other. And if you do down the tech tree, with Pz 3 you get a StuG, with Pz 4, you get Panthers. The Panther is almost identical to an equally teched Pz 3 and Pz 4, so the Pz 4 is not a better selection. The StuG looks like it is better than a Pz 2, but when you take in all the terrain modifiers., it really is not. So the Pz 3 is again, basically the same as Pz 4. That is just wrong. In BICE, if you select Pz 3, that was kind of better at first because of armor, but as time went on, the Pz 4 was much better than the Pz 3, just like reality. So my point is, maybe think about differentiating between the 3 and 4 so that the decision to choose one of the other makes a difference, right now, it does not. So I am going to go all the way with Pz 3 and Lt Tanks.., maybe just Pz. 3.., not sure, same as a Pz 4.

(3) The Czech armor is almost identical if not inferior to Pz. 2. So it is a waste of research. In BICE, the Czech armor was super great early game with all that armor. So in summary, the tank techs need to be tweaked massively, IMHO. Right now, you just either go with all Pz 3 or all Pz 4. And if you want to do something with Light tanks, always go with the Pz 2. The StuG, Panther, and Czech are a waste of tech.

Messerschmit under Aircraft Designer has increased fighter stats. I was researching Heinkel fighter.., and when I started, it said I had the Messerschnitt stats. When completed, they were gone. Not sure if this is intended, but if it is, should be clear in the description that Messerschmitt only applies to Messerschmitt. Kind of pissed, as you can imagine because my whole line of new fighters will not have this.., that is a big deal.., crap!!

the panzer 3 was orginally intened as a anti tank, tank meant to fight tanks, if that makes sense
the panzer 4 was orginally a infantry support tank with a short barreled low velocity 75mm

in the late war it was reversed than abandoned entirely as it was a ineffective doctrine.

it would not be hard to reflect this in the stats. (if the dev decides to tweak this anyway)
