i press E on them but there on my team but not highlighted and they dont get in my vehicle how do i make them get in?

Npcs wont sit in the vehicles

fmod_vehicle_max_dist is set at 120 and fmod_followers_enter_vehicles is at 1 but they still dont get in. they just kinda squat next to the door. am i just being an idiot and not using the right vehicle mod, or is there a conflicting addon?

ik this is old but has anyone ever figured it out? ik there's a vehicle sit/stand thing but other than that i don't get how this is supposed to work.

For me I had to weld a seat from the "chairs" section in Vehicles to whatever vehicle I was using and they'd get in those, but for some reason not anymore. fmod_followers_enter_vehicles is 1 and fmod_vehicle_max_dist is 120 but they won't get in the seats like they used to. not sure what broke it. I think it was after I tried saving a vehicle using Advanced Duplicator 2 but I doubt that would've broke something.

Still have the same issue, tinkering with fmod_vehicle_max_dist in the console permanently screws up follower seating. Attempting to change it back locks it to -1 and in the errors tab at main menu you get this prompt:


Tried to type the values in quotes "" to try fooling it but that didn't do trick. The method Miles mentioned unfortunately doesn't seem to work neither, still gets locked at -1

Seem to have found a partial fix by unpacking the addon with GWTool. You have to save the whole Unpacked folder into you addons folder steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons)... Then open the lua/autorun/followers_mod.lua file in notepad a search for fmod_vehicle_max_dist in the text.The line of code ends in 0, -1) so I changed the -1 to 400 and saved. Now it lets me change the distance in console, isn't glued to -1. But maybe you also have to disable the addon in the addons menu in gmod so that it uses the one you unpacked into your addons folder instead of the one you are subscribed to from the workshop. Can't get the NPC to sit in every car, but atleast now if I spawn a seat from the vehicles menu and sit in some car, my follower NPC sits on the seat, so some sitting is happening.
