captilism is a beast
I can hold 75 prisoners atm. But I am the lord of a city, so my character is lvl 31 atm. (You NEED charisma... YOU NEED CHARISMA!!! w/o Leadership/Persuasion your army will leave you if it gets to big) The income of my city is.... 4k, which is paltry. It's down trodden and poor and hasn't gotten better with a month of very low taxes lol.
Blunt weapons (which there are NOT a nice choice of....)
Make sure all your companions have blunt weapons and nice armor. In time they will become your main source of CONSISTENT income.
You absolutely NEED to do some tournaments ASAP lol. Thankfully there is a solo option so you can just do your thing, instead of getting those 5x5 or 8x8 matches where your team gets wrecked and it's you against the world lol. (you also get to use your own equipment)
If you catch a tournament at the start, you can do it 2-3 times and score 20K if you win each time. But it's honestly hard to find a tournament, since the map is SOOOO huge lol.
IMO do NOT invest in businesses. Dyeworks cost 10K and most of them net you below 400 VS the 600 of most mods. Just did a little playthrough where I went with low cost oil/iron shops ranging from 150-280 profit. Those ended up going down to -96 and 70 profits. (around 12ish of them total)
Early game
The Byzantine Empire and Portugal areas have alot of Steppe Bandits. So all you'll need to fight them is your companions and 10 or 15 T2 (one upgrade) spearmen. They have NO javelins. During a fight, jump off your horse and jump on one of theirs, at the end you'll get that horse. Cheap way of putting your companions on horses.
Medium/End game (vassal)
You want to invest in a manor and build that bad boy up! This is my #1 favorite thing about this mod. Build the blacksmith ASAP and when it's done go find the blacksmith and talk to him, change his taxes from gold to goods. Now every pay week you'll get 3 or 4 tools you can go sell for 200+ each. You can do this with almost everything you build, if you choose. You'll def make more money by taking in all goods instead of taxes but selling bread/lettuce is below me.
If you build a Prison, there will now be a ransom broker in your manor at all times to sell those prisoners!
Edit: Camp - Mod Options - You can turn off that fancy loot menu, I personally hate it lol.
