Why are structures put down backwards?
Generally the green is the side that is on the outside, where as Keep Walls as an example are green facing in and when you go to put down the windows you have to reverse them or they face inwards instead of outwards.

Question, is why has this never been fixed?

The orientation can be based on the position of you, the position of the part it is snapping to etc, you can flip parts with E when placing, this has been addressed in the Remastered version of the mod though.

The walls and other structures are always backwards, has nothing to do with where I stand. Vanilla structures doesn't have this issue and neither does S+.
