xmax+ - Suggestions? Comments?
Hi, I'm about to start making a more balanced (and harder) version of xmax.
So far what I have in mind is:
  • x5 bosses
  • Reduced XP (so you won't be 10 levels above the monsters)
  • Mob drop a bit more gold, to pay for potions.

Feel free to give more suggestions.

I should also be able to increase the amount of monsters in specific places, so if you feel like a particular spot could use more monsters take a screenshot (F12) while the monsters are still alive and share it in this thread.

Bugs such as statues not coming to life will also be addressed, but I can't do anything about mobs being out of reach.

Especially if you have a catchy name! xmore doesn't really feel good...

Definitely more gold drops would be nice. Would cut down on having to farm equipment drops and selling them just to afford things.

For a name, xMax+?

Well xmax+ (until better suggestion) is hardcore. I just ran through Normal Greece with a character I'm playing with on epic.

I might actual change the settings so that enemies do not have more health/damage in multiplayer.

Having come from years of xmax playing, 5x bosses would be enough for me to jump on it haha. I agree with more gold and less xp. Also, being on level fighting more bosses sounds like a really fun challenge! If you need someone to trial run stuff, I can absolutely help!

You should be able to find xmax+ in the custom quests. I left a surprise for you, check the dyes at Helios (I found that laying around in the game files =D).

Right now xp is set at 40% and gold at 150%. Can you tell me how it feels while you're playing? I haven't had time to create a new character, so I don't know if 40% xp is fair.

Also, the statues in the Sphinx in Giza should be fixed. Don't hesitate to mention anything that seems out of place, like the main quest not working.

Started up a new character, so here are my initial experiences.

Level 1-3 were kinda brutal. I went warfare and found myself having to scrounge up every item I could to afford just 1 more potion. Once I hit level 3 and got my first yellow item to drop things became much, much easier. I was able to take out all 5 satyr shaman with relative ease. I had around 15 potions going into the fight. Is there a way to start off with a handful of potions? I feel like once you get past those early levels things become much more surmountable. I would say 20 minutes of that playtime was getting to level 3.

I'll keep going as time allows.

Good point about the potions. I'm going to make satyrs drop health potions when you save the horse.
Edit: Okay, now you start with at three potions. Would you say that's enough?

I would think so. Considering that the chest midway through the fields also drops 3 potions.

Edit: Not sure if its just me, but xmax+ isn't spawning extra mobs anymore.

Well that's awkward! I'm not sure why it's not spawning extra mobs.
Edit: Okay, now I have absolutly no idea. The same exact mod works in my CustomMaps, but not on the Workshop.

Okay, I found the cause.
In a fit of organization, I decided to rename the version I'm making changes to xmax+dev. And when I uploaded it to the workshop, I forgot to change it back, so the database had a name like xmax+dev.arz instead of xmax+.arz
It works now.

I think I'm going to boost the chest in the starting field, to make it easier for people playing in multiplayer.
Also, if anybody is trying it in multiplayer, can you tell me how hard it is?

Still rolling, still relatively easy. I can't quite remember, but did Xmax ever spawn multiples of hero mobs? I seem to recall that being a thing, but I'm not entirely sure.

Hi Aquilamo! Could you make this x5 boss mod to have x5 (or at least x3) treasures? I remember playing Typhoon mod (or even Uber mod) which had x3 boss + x3 reward and it was really nice.
Or at least go for 150% drop, same as with gold.
