Playing as the Martians
This may sound a little...Stupid but how do you play as the Martians at the start...?

Play as america move all troops out of new jersy, type Event alien.1 into console then wait a month and choose We should try and make peace

Or just play as a nation or USA/Canada until Aliens spawn, pause, save game, load in and play as Martians.

Nah, its better to use Event Alien.1 then Event Alien.2

why can't you just choose to play as them when you start a new game ( if i sound stupid: forgive me, i am waiting until i can get all of the info before buying this game)

As of the latest version, you can choose to play as them from the 1939 start (look in New Jersey). This thread was created prior to that feature being implemented.

Either play as the USA until 1938 (starting from the 1936 start date), or simply choose them in the pre game set up (starting from the 1939 start date).
