If you are then you can use so many already established worlds for nations names and cultures.
You could put up a seperate topic for people to contribute.
Just a thought :)
To add tot his, another would be to swap Cavalry in the Steam tech to have Steam powered blimps and then early steam Zepplins, then once you get to the Diesel powered tech group, you then get Diesel powered Zepplins and Armored Zepplins and so on. in the siege units you could add a landship or landcruiser (Forgot which one the MK series tanks were classified by the british as)
For nations, one would be the Germanic Union/Confederation/Federation or Germanic Reich/empire (Again, dealers choice) with the normal black white and red tricolor flag but with the black bird in the center (Eagle i think)
This one (Sorry about the long link)

Decision: Support Guild
To help speed up an aspect of the Nation (and make a quick buck), you have decided to support a guild. Which one do you support?
The Alchemists seem a nice Choice. (Cheaper Military, -50 Ductats)
The Philosopher's Guild could Aid effectively (Cheaper Administration, -50 Ductats)
The Occult might lead to a quicker solution (Cheaper Diplomacy, -50 Ductats)
Don't Bother Me with this Nonsense. (+50 Ductats, will disable for 5 years or so)
These'll trigger events (support to ___ Faction), or Solve Feud between Such and Such Group. but the "Clamor for Reformation of Technology" will be avalable for certant dates like the ones below:
1444 - Witchcraft (Start of the Game, The Dark Ages are ending, Superstition is still at large.)
1520- Alchemy (This is 'round about when the Colonization of the Americas Began, thus an Influx of new Materials to Alchemize)
1735- Industrialism (The Following Year James Watt, Inventor of the Watt Steam Engine was born, and the Watt Engine was the major push for the Industrial Revolution)
There might be Rebels if there is a level of Support and the Technology is Avalible, with names like:
Gentleman's Society, Alchemist's Society, and Sorcerers Society. Generally Ending with "Society"
For a few Examples.
Witchcraft-
The Flying Witches:
Though most members of the army couldn't handle using both arms doing different tasks to stay alive, the Cavalry was able to. Their experience being on Horseback made it simple for them to re adjust to the Brooms they were on.
Steam-
The Jetpack Legion:
As the Use of steam became more and more common, the Weaponization of an invention by Hero of Alexandria came to the Highlight. A simple spinning toy using Steam, the reasons behind it became apparent, and thus the Cavalry had access (and abillity to) fly about and attack with the Ferocity of Steam behind them.
etc. etc.
