I started the mod because I think helicopters should be able to fly over coast area. I also add a promotion which allows helicopters to move after attacking enemies to better match with armored units as I think helicopters are a bit weak against modern armors and giant death robot, and a bit more maneuverability would help make this unit more useful.

For future updates:

I am thinking about free amphibious promotion since helicopters should not be affected whether it is attacking across river or over the coast.

I will also try and see if I can make them embark from coast to ocean or any other means to allow them travelling across ocean without being able to attack.

The Vox Populi mod (hosted at http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=497) has a feature for their Zepplin unit that allows it to function over coast tiles the way it does over land, and then embark in ocean. I'm no modder, so I couldn't explain how they accomplished it, but maybe someone on that forum could help you accomplish the same.

I would for sure add that they can go to ocean tiles, however they would lose 50%hp if end the turn over any watter tiles (similar to mountain)

I think this is a really good idea! The only issue i have is due to playing Poland. I build a lot of winged hussars which upgrade into anti tank guns and those upgrade into helicopters. Unfortunately your mod does not work on upgraded helicopters. They just behave normally.
On newly built ones your mod works just fine

I have a small issue with this mod. Submarines are able to attack helicopters when they hover on a water tile. Can you add a feature to your mod so that submarines and nuclear submarines cannot attack helicopter gunships, even when they are in water?
