But why not? Anyone who uses select classes like the rouge won't be able to use your weapons and it will look off if one class has the normal weapons and all the others are using the cool new special weapons. Just food for thought. I personally think that you could make a pretty good smg skin based on what you have already made.

Honestly, so many mod classes use SMGs that they're practically a prerequisite for any weapon pack mod or mod that affects weapon handling. Besides, almost any SMG design you come up with would automatically be better than the LWS Tier 3 SMG, and that alone adds value to the mod.

Well personally i don't really use the smgs, to be honest i didn't even consider making an smg until i saw this post, all i can say is that i'll keep it in mind, in any case an smg would be the last weapon i make after all the vanilla ones.

I dont use SMGs, mainly cause they are fugly as ♥♥♥♥ above tech 1, but it would be nice to have the option.

Vanilla weapon classes in priority is an obvious statement, I can't deny that, but then thinking about more weapons (including SMGs) would still be a nice addition.

I'd just like to add to this conversation, if much later, but hopfully in a more polite way.

Lots of people love the SMG mod, use it for their classes, or like the utility it affords. For those people, myself included, it would be nice to have a plasma SMG. But, this is your mod and you can do what you want with it, and it should be our job to respect that. So whether you do or don't, I'll still love and use this mod, but I hope there will be an SMG. Thank you for your time.
