Balancing History and Playability
Starting out i want to say, that i didnt play this mod a lot. Only one game, only as germany and only till 1917. So i might have missed some things. Still, i really like the mod, because i feel like it gives me more freedom to design the world in small steps, since i have more time.
But, i would like to see some more balancing between actual history and gameplay/fun, because at this moment, the historical events simply break the game a bit. Examples:

First: Germany can declare war on france (or vise versa) and bully denmark to join by completing the respective foci. But when the assassination of Franz Ferdinand happens in 1914 and the events push Germany into war, Germany still has to complete the foci leading to the declaration of war on france, to bully denmark, or sweden, to take sides. Since the foci leading to the delcaration of war on france bring only pp or anti french sentiment, they are simply a waste of time better spent on foci that give research boni or similiar. Either the foci leading to the denmark/sweden foci should be bypassed by the event or the foci should by turned into decisions.

Second: My troops actually stood directly infront of Moscow in 1917, St. Petersburg has been conquered long ago. But when the event for the russian revolution happened, suddenly 1/3 of my conquested territory turned communist. That meant, that half of my troops suddenly stood on foreign soil without any way to supply them, i lost a bunch of factories and ressources and war score. Also all my frontllines were ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and of course communist russia had troops waaay behind my frontlines. Since this is not only annoying but also unlogical (russian revolution in territory not owned by russia?!) the event should consider the current borders in the playthrough and not "historicly accurate" borders.

I agree that the events come off as well intentioned but ham fisted. On my only playthrough as italy i tried to prepare for the Invasion of Libya with possible further Ottoman conquests.
Instead the event just assumed i won the war, no battles fought, then gave me the land it wanted me to have and then ended the war.

As the above poster said, much gratitude and admiration to the modders but so far it seems to be missing the point of actually being a game.

I have seen a lot of weird things in a game with netherlands, The ottomans beat the balkan league and since italy was at war with them when it started and joined Serbia, when the war ended Italy (without being touched in one province) was made puppet. This and Nat China beating Qing fast making Japan Never actually getting any province there. Then since there was no Serbia (It was annexed by the ottomans), WW1 started later when Germany for some reason or event declared war on France. Also Since Italy and the ottomans were together, they joined Germany and Austria so Germans won the WW1 really fast. To add Before the event of cease fire in russia, like 1 day, the commies appeared, so russia lost the war but all the territory went to Commie russia without firing a single shot, then Russia empire appeared a few days with some territory and a Capital in crimea and no war. Even when this was a really weirdo game to by my first in a long time with a mod in WW1, War eventually started even if this was boring and fast.

One of the thing i really think have to do with new version of the game, is that some nations just join any faction if they are at war with the same enemy, even if its a really unholy thing to do. And actually this create a lot of problems, so i guess some issues in the mod might be that it might need time to adapt to new features.
