Couldn't agree more.
like the others here, i just don't find maps cluttered with armies full of throwaway units to be enjoyable. i much prefer a playstyle in which every army, every lord, every unit matters -- even the low-ish tier units, in the early game. so the huge changes in upkeep costs and other related stats are sadly a deal breaker for me. :/
unfortunately, the only mod i could find here on the workshop that makes the necessary changes seems to have been abandoned almost a year ago. there is one compatible mod that increases upkeep, but not back to vanilla values, and upkeep by itself is only part of the issue; losing units won't matter much while recruitment costs, recruitment slots, etc. remain unchanged.
with my basic knowledge, i can edit some stats, but i don't know enough about TW modding (and about the specific changes and additions that are part of Radious TWM & TUM) to change all the values necessary to bring army & unit numbers and costs back to vanilla levels.
i wouldn't even know where to look for most of these (taken from the abandoned mod's description):
- upkeep and recruitment costs
- amount of recruitment slots
- recruitment times
- background income
- AI military funding cap
i appreciate all the work you and your team put into your mods, so i apologize if this comes across as ungrateful. but it's frustrating that this issue makes the mod unenjoyable to me, when it has so many other improvements over the vanilla game that i would really like. and i don't know how to fix it myself.
