Getting "pure virtual function being called" when trying to open options menu
Whenever I try to open the options menu, I'm getting a crash with the following message:

Pure virtual function being called while application was running (GisRunning == 1)

This has been going on for several weeks, so I spent several hours troubleshooting it tonight. Reinstalling the game, reinstalling Microsoft .NET, the C++ stuff, Direct X, trying different mods on and off, verifying file integrity literally dozens of times (it routinely finds 1 file it wants to replace).

It turns out it only happens when I enable the Long War Toolbox in the launch menu. :( This is still happening after the July 30 update of course. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Because the odd thing is that the game seems to work just fine with that single exception: I cannot access the options menu.

So no one else is seeing this? I know the "pure virtual function" crash is relatively common, but it seems really odd to me that it won't let me open the options screen.

Based on literally hours of trawling through comments and troubleshooting suggestions, I wonder if it might be related to whatever issue the Long War folks have had with the red mist setting. I'd love to turn off red mist to see if that might help me, but I can't open the options screen! Does anyone know if there's a way to turn off red mist in, say, an ini file somewhere?
