Update: I managed to snag a lvl 140 fire Wyvern egg (many pteranadons perished to bring me that egg). I had taken out a few female wyverns and gotten 10 milk. So I raised Torch and went on a killing spree, hitting any dossiers I could find. Got him to lvl 205 and cleared out the crater.

Will repeat until I find a high level lightning egg (i think they look cooler than the fire wyverns). :)

your best bet is actually an argie with a LOT of health and a grappling hook set. o-o my tribe and I used to just go down wiith our guns and grapples for them.

Ya, in a tribe (even in a very small one) having someone as bait to draw some wyverns away works well. Solo, they respawn too fast to do the old lure/tranq/kill repeat method.

The shape of the cauldron means you are basically flying right in to the jaws of 10-20 wyverns. :)
