How to use Color Mod with FPS Mod (instruction):

For those who wish to play Color Mod with FPS mod (or any another) - it's easy. You just have to unpack game resources, and replace them with resources from Color MOD.

How to use Color Mod with FPS Mod (instruction):

For those who wish to play Color Mod with FPS mod (or any another) - it's easy. You just have to unpack game resources, and replace them with resources from Color MOD.

Step-by-Step guide:

1. Backup your original game files. (Just for additional safety)

2. Get Unreal Engine 4 pak-file Unpacker: http://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?t=1005

3. Unpack game original .pak in game's steam folder "Hatred\Content\Paks\Hatred-WindowsNoEditor.pak" right into your game folder "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred" (or your custom folder if you relocated it) using unpacker. Then remove/move this .pak file somewhere from current folder or just rename it's extension (e.g ".pak" to ".pa_".)
Have to remove - because game priority on original packed .pak files.

4. Unpack Color Mod .pak file (it's located in Steam folder "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\341940\635133542" - file ColorBETA ... .pak) and copy/move this files right into your game folder "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred" (or your custom folder), overwritting the original files.Then remove this .pak file or just dont activate it as mod.

5. Please note that Steam can try to "repair" your game if next update rolls out, so disable updates for the game. So do - right click on "Hatred" game in your steam game list, "Updates" section. "Update this game only on start"

6. Add/Install FPS mod .pak file (with .hatmod too) located in "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\341940\653274398" into folder "Hatred\Content\Paks\Mods\653274398". You will need to create "Mods" folder in "Paks" and copy/move mod files here).

7. Start game - it will report about game files integrity - just ignore it and go on. The game should run then with color mod as default instead of original grey colors.

8. In starting menu select options: "USER CONTENT" "MAP PACKS". Select "MOD LIST - MASS MURDERER - A FPS MOD", Select starting mission at right to start FPS mod.

Your steam game folder is in "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred" (or where did you installed it customly)
You can add any mods into "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred\Content\Paks\Mods\" folder. Originally there is no such "Mods" folder, but you can create it and game can use it for adding mods manually.

Тем, что хочет играть в Цветной мод с FPS модом (или любым другим) - это просто. Достаточно просто распаковать и заменить игровые ресурсы ресурсами из цветового мода.

Пошаговое руководство:

1. Сохраните куда-нибудь в резерв оригинальные игровые файлы . (Для надежности)

3. Распакуйте оригинальный игровой .pak файл, находящийся в папке с игрой "Hatred\Content\Paks\Hatred-WindowsNoEditor.pak", прямо в свою папку с игрой "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred" используя распаковщик, затем удалите-переместите этот файл.

4. Распакуйте .pak файл Цветового Мода (он расположен в Steam папке "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\341940\635133542" - файл: ColorBETA ... .pak) , и скопируйте их с заменой прямо в свою папку с игрой "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred". Распаковщик переименует его расширение, поскольку у игры приоритет на упакованные файлы. После распаковки можете спокойно удалять этот .pak файл для экономии места.

5. Имейте ввиду, что Стим может попытаться "починить" вашу игру при следующем обновлении, так что, отключите обновления для игры. Можно сделать так - нажмите правой кнопкой на "Hatred" в вашем списке игр стима. "Обновления". "Обновлять эту игру только при запуске"

6. Вы можете скопировать или перенести .pak и .hatmod файлы FPS мода (и любого другого Total Conversion мода) расположенного в "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\341940\653274398" в папку "Hatred\Content\Paks\Mods\653274398" (Необходимо будет сперва создать папку "Mods" в папке "Paks")

7. Запустите игру - она скорее всего выдаст ошибку о целостности игровых файлов, проигнорируйте это предупреждение - в дальнейшем оно не будет вылезать.

8. В меню выберите: "USER CONTENT" "MAP PACKS". Select "MOD LIST - MASS MURDERER - A FPS MOD", Выберите начальную миссию с FPS модом.

Ваша игровая папка в стиме находится по адресу "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred"
Вы можете также добавлять любые моды в папку "Steam\steamapps\common\Hatred\Content\Paks\Mods\".

You can get yourself permanently banned from steam community by steam moderators by even remotely mentioning cracks - read the rules if you don't believe me. Remove all mentions of those or you're at great risk.

Also, there is zero guarantee that this will work perfectly, you should mention that. I had to modify maps and few textures, and if Color Mod's author also changed the maps - his changes would be lost.

I can atest what Igoreso just said, the community mods are too triggerhappy even for Hatred forums.

Also, tell people to backup their files. This is very important.

I don't know, there are so many possibilities for it to work incorrectly that I won't even waste my time counting. If I'd know exactly which files were changed in Color Mod - I could predict more precisely.

Article? Hmm. Where is articles? You mean "guides"?
Seems i cannot make a guide, because i dont have this game in my list (or country block).

Anyway I newbie in steam and dont use it oftenly. Also I'm from Crimea and cannot buy, it just doesnt works for me, only gifts works.
I just was interested in this game and only in modding of it.

Updated guide. Forgot adding info about overwriting files (first - unpack originals, then unpack mod, then move mod files to original files overwriting them)
