Traps
Shock Sentry
Damage is now weapon DPS based
Cooldown is now reduced per level allowing up to 4 concurrent sentries by level 15

Spider Bots
Damage is now weapon DPS based

Sentry Turret
Damage is now weapon DPS based
Duration now increased at tiers 2 and 3 (levels 10 and 15) allowing for concurrent turrets

Trap Mastery
Skill has been replaced with armor degradation per hit. Skill points will transfer from the old skill as I kept the skill ID and name to ensure skill points are not lost for existing characters.


WHY ? WHY ?!
Trap Mastery was SO GOOD..... AND Sentry Turret / Shock Sentry too. Now theres a BIG cooldown and ARMOR DEGRADATION per hit... are you serious ? Please, could you UNDO this changes ? My ASSASSIN is less than nothing now....:steamsad:

I had a discussion on traps that almost no one replied to. To answer the question of why, it is to make end game better. I'm very open to balance suggestions for the damage amounts, but I'd like to keep it DPS based as flat damage skills are an extreme pain to balance in end game and will get worse once/if Salan finishes the next area.

I reduced the cooldown on the sentries, I didn't increase them in this new version, so what is the issue with the cooldown? The reason I originally changed the cooldown was that sometimes the game refused to create new traps when I put a cap on them (max 4 traps for example). It is supposed to unsummon the old units and summon the new ones but it didn't always work.

What is wrong with the armor degradation?

I don´t have ANY cooldown before. If it´s a "bug" or not, I don´t know. I could put 2 traps without ANY cooldown before this path.And I really like that way (or, maybe a LITTLE cooldown).

And about Armor Degradation. It is a "basic" afix... I have LOTS of armor degradation, I DONT NEED MORE, do you understand ? I need more DAMAGE OUTPUT, that´s it. So with Trap Mastery given Armor Degradation, it is useless..... AND my Traps do LESS Damage. All in All, after this patch, my Assassin become unplayable, simply because my damage output is badly nerfed.

Shock sentry has a max damage of 102% DPS and sentry turret 126%. You can have 4 shock sentries at one time with the current cooldown and 3 sentry turret as level 15. This is more than enough damage for each skill. With these numbers they may even be too overpowered as they are more powerful than most DPS skills out there. The armor degradation is powerful as traps do not apply weapon effects, but armor degradation works on traps. Therefore, there is no need for armor degradation on your primary weapons if you have this skill as your traps will rip up the armor of enemies.

If you think you don't have enough damage then get new equipment.

My buid has LOTS of Armor Degradation. I DONT NEED more AD. You change your MOD and my build became.... crap ! But, it´s your MOD. You can do whatever you want. My advice: DON´T do this type of modifications to a MOD without consult who are using this. Peace.

Except...he did consult? There was a topic for quite a bit of time asking about the changes. Feels a bit silly to yell at him, and say he didn't consult anyone, when the topic about changing traps was around for ages with little feedback. Also, wasn't old trap mastery just a 'basic' +damage affix, too? So it's not like it went from something super cool and interesting to just plain armor shred. :P
