How to add factions?
Could someone give me tutorial on how to add factions that are not initially supported by ALiVE? I've looked this up and read that other addon factions can be added, however I'm pretty new to this, so when a wall of code is posted in qoutes that doesn't tell me anything. What do I do with that code? ETC The factions I wish to add are as followed
Operation trebuchet(the halo mod)
Spanish armed forces(FFAA)
Pedagne mod
GAC JSDF

And one more minor question. For combat support, if i wanted to add individual units, suchs as the A-10 from the USAF mod or the F-2 which is a standalone unit with no faction, would that be possible?

Thanks tons in advance guys. I hope this isn't too much to answer. I'm new to this, gotta start somewhere right?

If the factions have groups defined, you can simply put the faction name in the placement modules. You can easily tell by looking in the Groups part of the editor and see if anything is listed there under the faction. If there are no groups defined it requires some coding, which isn't straight forward. In this case your best bet is to ask the author of the faction if they would consider adding a config for groups.

We're working on a tool that lets you create factions (and groups) for ALiVE more easily but it's some way off yet.

For Combat Support, simply put the classname of the aircraft into the module - you can get the classname by placing the unit in the Eden editor, right clicking and copy classname to clipboard.

Thank's a ton! Been making substanial progress on my ALiVE campaign. not quite done but almost.
