Religious headgear
Right, so I posted this as a comment earlier today, but since then a few of my friends have also expressed interest in this. Because of this, I thought I'd make a discussion post about it just in case you didn't see the comment - the comment section is moving rather quickly due to the popularity of this pack.

A common gripe people have with XCOM EU/EW and now 2's otherwise perfectly satisfactory character creation is the lack of religious/cultural garb, even though XCOM is supposed to be a coalition of multiple nations, including ones whose cultures contain dress codes. Hijabs, turbans, etc.

Just wondering if you've had any thoughts about attempting some accessories/head props along those lines. Things like goggles, helmets and gas masks are to be expected, though a few items like what I have suggested would no doubt be welcome additions that a lot of people may not have even realised were 'missing'.

I think some kind of Recon Hijab would be really cool. Tactical Yarmukle? Armoured Niqab? Stealth Turban? And even religious headgear from African cultures that I'm not even familiar with! I think it could be really awesome, if done right.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd like to see a catholic priest collar. Kindof like in Killing Floor how the priest character looked. But maybe that's only because I think priest look cool, and because I respect them. Although it might be a smidge inappropriate considering they are men of peace. Still, the idea that a priest might take up arms to defend his fellow humans intrests me. Turbans and Hijabs would also be cool, though I know little about that, I'd still any religion, it fits the idea of a free and open people fighting for the greater good. :happy_creep:

You can already get that terrorist look with that ninja wrap hat /s

But this would indeed be nice. A balaclava with two versions, one full hat + one eligible for being worn under helmets & such, would also be really good.

Sorry, I'm just imagining a stealth turban... with little gadgets and gizmos that just pop out from between the layers when they're needed...

Seriously though, Go for it. Personally I'm not particularly bothered with the idea of religious gear myself but I'd never say no to more stuff.

I'd much rather see you continue your work on regual cosmetics.

My personal opinion is that religion really doesn't fit into Xcom...at all. In any way.

But maybe that's just me. :p

Why not? It's literally a struggle between humanity clinging to its culture and identity versus alien overlords who are taking every measure to eradicate these things to make them easier to control. We can even see in the game itself that they've removed the concept of countries, shuffled people around to remove their sense of ethnic community, and replaced all religion with this new ADVENT focused one. Guerrilla soldiers rebelling against them are going to also rebel against these changes. The game already shows this in part by having your soldiers display their national flags on their backs, even though they're meaningless now. A proud Sikh man who was forced to reject his faith and take off his dastar is sure as hell going to put it back on in protest while he represents XCOM.

Well it's not like the game doesn't already push that theme. I just think it's weird being given, for example, female Iranian soldiers and then not having the option to give them a headscarf.
