That shouldn't happen. It should look exactly like the pictures and spawnicons. Try re-downloading the addon or disabling all of your addons except the required ones.

Also, it only fixes itself if I type mat_specular 0 in console

What that command does is disable the specular texture that is needed for the shiny troopers.

i am having same proplem just less shiney and on the smothe and shany verstions

I'm having this same problem too! There has to be an addon conflicting with this pack because it use to not do this. Sometime in the future I'm gonna try to get to the bottom of this myself. If I find out what's causing this then I'll spread the word to everyone and the authors too.
