I'll be happy to test this out - I'm in the middle of a massive game at the moment, so I might be a bit slow in returning the results.

Two thoughts that i had for this, props on a great idea by the way. First, i would recomend increasing the passive ability the generals provide when not at war, possibly one per level. Secondly, a promotion tree: Paranoid (-1 movement, -1 sight, +70% ranged defense), Fearful (-1 movement, +60% ranged defense), Cautious (+50% ranged defense)

Same here, would love to be able to test this mod. I think it's a great mechanic!
Also I agree with chop.

Hmm perhaps also adding a negative modify for the generals if they spawn when the empire is unhappy such as that paranoid promotion Chop mentions, only applying to your empire instead.

A science boost perhaps could be added as a latter game mechanic that they produce in the latter eras, or where they get unique abilities like beakering/ hurry production (if possible)

I would love to test it but not sure where the page for the abilities information is

I would like to enter into the beta testing, and also have some ideas for more promotions that could be given out.
