[FIX] "Object Referance not set to instance of object" Error
IMPORTANT READ ALL

If you are getting an object referance error pop up every few seconds in game, i may have figured out the "cure". After many hours of testing i have finally found that the rico mod is not causing the error, but rather individual assets utilizing RICO.

I have put together a list of assets that cause this error, if you are subscribed to any of the following assets, unsub from them and the error should dissapear. Now this is a short list so far as it only contains assets i personally use and have narrowed down to be the cause. But PLEASE, i urge you, after unsubing from the assets in this list, and if you still get the error, find the asset causing the error by following the how to guide below, and post that asset (asset name and asset author) to this thread, i will then test said asset(s) and confirm that it causes an error.

(HOW TO FIND A BROKEN ASSET) Be sure to have a pen and paper to write down potential assets

1. enable rico and start a new game preferably on a vanilla map
2. ignore the error pop-ups (i know its frusturating but it will help many people)
3. go to the rico menu and go to each sub group (low res, high res, low comm, etc.)
4. click every building (a broken asset will not be buildable when clicked, for example, you click a walmart but it doesnt appear on screen for you to plop) (keep a keen eye, it is easy to overlook an asset, for example you click a walmart and it appears on screen ready to be plopped, that asset is clear so you click the next, a Target, a building appears on screen but actually it is still the walmart. This is an easy overlook but it means the Target asset is broken)
5. Once your sure you have narrowed down every asset, go to the main menu>content manager>assets> and delete those asstes from your game.
6. Restart the game and test to see if you get the error, if you do, you probably missed an asset, repeat the proccess until the error stops. (if you are sure you got every asset but still get the error, turn off rico and start a game, if the error stops, you missed an asset)

Dam! Im subscribed to all of those. I dont think king lenos would be a problem! He uses rico for everything.

hi ! for me Providence theater hall don't work with rico it was causing a null reference error

I was almost going to give up because I couldn't find the broken asset, but I found it. It's the Sagan-Tyson center for science.

This seems like an impossibly complex way to discover all the assets that may cause problems. I thought the issue occurred because the asset itself was broken, or that part of the asset was missing, which in turn causes the asset to be broken.

A simpler way to find all your 'broken' assets is to install the loading screen mod. By setting this mod to produce its 'assets report' will show which assets you need to remove.

I could be way off here, but i was having this error message and after a bit of digging i found advice that basically says the above. I tried it and removed the assets the loading screen mod highlighted. Error is gone.
