Mostly great, sometimes awful. 4/5 stars.

Dark Wood is... complicated. I can't possibly write a full review in under 1,000 characters, but here's the gist.

Dark Wood and Dark Wood Extended are 2 slightly different campaigns (you can download the OG elsewhere). DW has better atmosphere & single player, DWE has better gameplay & multiplayer. They're both absolute stunners, DW especially, and they mash together so many horror cliches at once that it feels original. DWE also has amazingly intricate easter eggs.

They share a fatal flaw: Map 3 is the longest chapter, yet it ends on an insane difficulty spike that leads to resets. The finale, meanwhile, is braindead easy. Ironically, DWE isn't much longer than DW despite the name, but they're both too long IMO. I want to love these campaigns, but they're not quite there.
