Its a saddle slot per say, but it is for an item called an "Artifact" which will provide armor and melee damage boost. There are differing qualities like many items in Ark (common, uncommon, rare, etc). The basic grey quality can be upgraded using another item called Midas Touch of God. The instructions on the item tells you how. Both Artifacts and Midas Touches are gained by killing godlings/puppets; further midas touches can be gained by sacrificing items to the god shrine.

Yeah I got one but I accidentally sacrificed it, originally I put the artifact in the first slot of my inventory and used a midas touch and nothing happened? is there a YouTube video explaining how that stuff works?

To upgrade the Artifact, it can be in your inventory. It can also be in the saddle slot of your godling and you remote use the midas touch from the godling's inventory.

To upgrade the Artifact, it can be in your inventory. It can also be in the saddle slot of your godling and you remote use the midas touch from the godling's inventory.

Sometimes you will be unlucky and not have anything happen, its not a guarantee, just a chance. Have the Artifact you wish to upgrade as the first item in your inventory before other artifacts/goddess saddles, then click on the midas touch (also in your inventory), then click on "Use Item". Do not do so from your action bar.

What he says is true about having it in your godlings saddle slot, and while this is the only way to upgrade actual saddles (goddess saddles excluded), its way more effective to do Artifacts from your inventory as you can also upgrade your armor that you currently have equipped and the first weapon or tool in your action bar at the same same time. If you are very lucky, you can get multiple items upgraded with one midas touch! This will not happen if you upgrade from the godling's inventory, only the artifact.
