I can only replicate that by having text hud API mod missing, is it missing or broken for you? (if you equip a block, does it show a text box or does it do notifications in center?)

Yeah text api either isn't present or it got corrupted download, can you check your SE log for "Text hud API" or "758597413.sbm" and see if it has compile errors, if it does then you need to redownload it on your end: https://spaceengineers.wiki.gg/wiki/Fixing_Download_Corruption

If there's no mention of it at all then the server doesn't have it, ask them to add it as it's not a great experience without it =)

the servers mod list has it (text hud API) in it but my log after connecting doesn't have the mod in the list

ok he had to reinstall the server to get it to work but it works now
