These are all good ideas. However, I want to keep the weapon animation fixes separate from the survivor animation fixes to avoid compatibility problems with other weapon mods people may be using.
I'll be searching for tutorials and asking around for help from other modders to help with swapping/replacing more survivor animations.
I think this is managed by the "talker" files, where modders find the names for the vocalizer commands. It's basically a tree of every character conversation, but in a counter-intuitive text format. This also controls which maps allow which lines and who can respond to them in what context.
There've been some modders on l4dmaps (aka gamemaps now) that made their own changes, but it's a very involved time investment to double check them. But I was thinking of doing the same thing while finding good lines for my own vocalizer mod.
