Sounds like mod's code didn't succesfully compile for some reason, the SE log would mention the reason(s).

Most often it's download corruption when it didn't delete old files or didn't properly download new files. A potential fix for that would be: unsub, wait for steam to update SE workshop (or force it to in downloads window) and then re-sub.

Post the SE log if you still have troubles.

... or does the paintgun work? because then it's a bug in updating that description =)

I was able to ask a friend to try your mod on his system and he said it was working.

So it definitely seems to be with my computer.

So I tried one more thing.

I verified game files.

Then I went into the folder were the mods are stored and renamed the folder for your mod. I just added old to the name. I then restarted SE so it would redownload the mod.

Unfortunately that did not fix the issue.

In you instructions above I understand the part about unsubscribing but not about the forcing an update of SE workshop.

So I wanted to give a small update.

I have totally removed and reloaded SE.

Unfortunately I still can not use your mod.

I am having this same issue. I removed the mod and a fresh copy was downloaded. When I searched for "paint" in the logs there was no error. My next test is to load a clean world with only this mod installed.

So I had an interesting thing happen.

I switched my personal world from survival with creative to 100% creative and your mod started working. When I initially looked at it in the G menu the same error message was showing but the icon was not greyed out. So I selected it and that is when it started working.

I then proceeded to go into the game I am playing on the server and unfortunately the error message was there and the icon was greyed out.

Grayed out in g-menu means you don't have it in your inventory, you have to build it and its paint chemicals ammo in an assembler first.

After that equip it and see if the palette shows up on the HUD.

EDIT: I think I see the issue, I forgot that the description shows up in g-menu too and the mod only overwrites it once the tool is equipped first, so yeah it's a bug with just the description, which will get fixed :}
