Light crossbows, however horse lancers imo are better cavalry men,

Start your own kingdom, then your special kingdom troops will become available. Go to the party screen and talk to them to change equipment.

are they renameable? i haven't tried it yet.

when i finish a castle will it officially count as starting my own faction?

To every stage of them?
I mean whenever i upgrade them
peasant-change
Militia - change
Sergent - change
Knight - change

I considered making a new thread but since this falls into this category i'll just post here.

so if i take over a city, will the villages attached to it switch to my culture , an permit me to recruit my faction troops?

ideally it would be nice if they were able to upgrade. because paying 7k for 10 soldiers at recruit, 8k for militia, 10k for footmen 5k for archers, an so on when there in groups of 10 is a bit much >.< the knights cost 38k to recruit 10! that is way to much , or perhaps

add buildings to the castle that you can build to reduce their costs.

like a blacksmith which lowers the cost of melee units.

Horse, and Grain farm which reduces the cost of cavalry units, but also permits you to buy grain from the town.

The current setup of customisable troops don't allow you to upgrade them. It's the how how it works unfortunately. But I can try to add a menu option where you can do this, but not at the party screen.

Besides, the town pays for recruitment, not the player.

um, when i try to recruit at my castle that i built. it usually makes me pay out of my personal wealth, and not the kingdoms wealth.

currently my kingdom has about 30k, and it still asks/makes me from my my own money. also is there a plan to add a 'banking' system? to help save up money outside of the inventory

The castle requires the player to pay, the town pays for its own defenders (from town's treasury).

well the castle troops , are kingdom troops so wouldn't it make sense that the cost for them comes from the kingdom treasury?

and still , 30k per squad is still a bit much though i've found that their cost is mostly representive of all the possible equipment items they can spawn with.so when i get 20k to re-equip the cavalry i just remove most of their alternate equipment
