Sandbox with normal hearing I like to have longer days so I exclusively play sandbox mode.

But, my expeirence with nail guns in RL has been that they are really friggin loud. Maybe it was just easier to share the Pistol stats on the nail gun.. I mean this is a pretty prolific mod.

I agree there loud but not nearly as loud as a handgun. I can use a nailgun without hearing protection, but if I fire my sub compact .45 without ear protection my ears will be ringing afterwards. I spent about an hour and a half shooting without hearing protection and was nearly deaf for a month afterwards.

LOL; I made that mistake once as well. Took my Mosin Nagant out and let my buddy fire it. I didn't have my buds in; RINNNNGGGGGG for the rest of the day.. Yecch..

You should try the Indie Stone Forums; Hydro has a forum post in there that he checks pretty regularly. He might be able to reduce the noise a bit if the game logic lets him.

Should try using a concrete nailer in a small room. Needless to say, it'll deafen you.

Nail guns in RL use .22 LR blanks with shorter casings so it'd be right for them to be pretty loud...

Well i have used two different types of nailguns and neither of them were loud enough to make my ears ring. A .22 isnt very loud I can shoot those all day without hearing protection.

I guess what I should have said is: The nail gun is drawing zombies from a farther distance than I think it should. Comparing it with a gunshot was a terrible idea, gunshots very greatly depending on the round and weapon its fired from.

Nail guns are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ super load kids. If you ever get a blue collar job you will understand, now stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and get back to playing.

You are simply wrong, you need ear plugs to work a nail gun or you will get tenitus. Lots of people ruin their ears by ignoring the loud plug noise they make. You can hear it for blocks in a busy downtown street.

I do agree tho Nail guns are loud. as loud as a small grade firearm. they work properly ingame.

For you to get a tinnitus it depends on how close the blast is, ie if your ear is in direct path of it ( ie the barrel is lower than, or level to your ear if aiming straight up; if you're in a hallway / room where sound bounces back, etc.. ).. They are no joke so I'd always recommend hearing protection unless using a high grade suppressor outdoors.
