What locomotive are you building? is it a steam engine or a diesel?

Could someone help me out as im trying to build a class 37 diesel.

I'm working on all the trains and wagons, most of the items require different tricks to building them and several tools:

Axis (Gmod Default)
Axis Center
No Collide (Gmod Default)
Precision
Postioner
Rotator
Smart Snap
Slider (Gmod Default) [For the W6 Peckett pistons]
Easy Body Group [To set the different styles of wheels and skin groups on parts]
Weld (Gmod Default)
Weight Imporved
Advanced Ball Socket [To lock the train wheels to each other, so they spin at the same speed]
Advanced Duplicator 2 [To save sub-assemblies and final builds]
Ragdoll Mover [To fine tune the pistons on the W6 Peckett]
Smart Freeze [To freeze all parts on a build if you have to unfreeze any during construction]

You may have to adjust the settings of the tools as you build to be able to line up everything correctly, but it is doable. Just experiment with the parts an tools, you will eventually get things to work.



I'm wondering what bogeys go the what large cars (Steel carriers, large tanker, and passenger cars) and the bogey type for the Class 105.

I have most of the full size items working as rolling builds, I didn't make them drivable (I plan to leave that open for later), I have yet to work on any of the 2FT track items since there are very few maps for them at the moment.

Well, there are guides, but none of them are actually helpful.

magnum's tutorial is too fast and he doesn't read the comments so he doesn't know that

i cant believe there are still people that dont know how to build in Garrys Mod.

You dont even need all those tools, use thrusters, buttons, use wheels and emitters!
And if youre like me, you combine that with your little knowledge of wiremod, and bam, ive already made like a dozen trains with no wiremod, and they work!

I used to think i couldnt build Steamers but THe number 1 thing to remeber while watching magnums video is learn the precision alighnment tool. It will help you 600%

yeah its been a while since i made that comment, trust me im a much better builder now and i do utilize most of the things on the list above...

For me, it's for diesel engines
