Why on earth did you add the droid manufacturing facility
Specifically talking about the one where you need to fight through an extremely boring and excruciatingly long section with just HK-47. Without a doubt the worst part about the entire game and it baffles the mind as to why you found its inclusion necessary, couldn't this been kept to the droid planet mod?

It kills any momentum the game had going up until that point and forces you to fight through some of the worst encounters in the entire game, to add insult to injury you have to fight like 8 droids at a time at one point (did anyone even playtest this), as if constantly getting jumped by the same 3 droids, repeating the same 3 lines of dialogue wasn't bad enough...

Maybe some things were cut for a reason, I honestly can't imagine the HK-50 manufacturing facility being well received, it's by far the worst part about the entire game and it's inclusion is the reason I'll probably abandon what I once considered to be a rather essential mod.

Yes, I playtested this... amongst several others.
Also, it's entirely optional, so...
Dantilan 2016 年 3 月 17 日 上午 5:26
How is it optional? Unless you know specifically not to give HK-47 any droid parts you might pick up on the way. Once you're inside the facility you're prevented from leaving until the manufacturing plant is shut down.

You can simply not select the dialogue tree in which the HK-50 quest is activated.
So much salt in this comment it's insane
They added it because it was cut content, please take note of the large "restored content mod" in the title.

As I've said in my original post, some content is cut for a reason. The droid facility feels completely disconnected from the rest of the game and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was intentionally abandoned during development.

It wasn't. Infact it was stated if LA gave them just one more week, it would have been shipped in the game.

idk what you're talking about so far it was my favorite part about the mod, I love HK47 and doing a mission solely as him was an enormous amount of fun for me.

Yeah, I also found the HK factory to be one of the high points of a great mod. I'm not sure why it sticks in your craw as much as it does, but it is FAR from out of place in this excellent mod.

Wheter it's really easy two-shooting everyone (like I do) or you need 50 shots per really depends on the HK-build. Auto-leveling him is bad, but then again this wont be the only sequence punishing you for it.
Stiven 2016 年 4 月 11 日 上午 12:57
Because it is part of the story, dumy.

I completely agree with the OP: the droid factory is VERY badly designed. Simply because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through without cheating UNLESS you have made sure to build HK-47 "the right way" (and even then the fight against the 8 opponents is ridiculously challenging regardless of difficulty setting).

A game should be playable without foreknowledge. The whole point of an RPG is to experience it for yourself. A response along the lines of "well, you should not have auto-leveled HK-47" is beyond stupidity.

I am pretty sure that if Obsidian had put this in the game, they would have made it possible to play even with HK-47 lacking any feats and without weapons. There are so many ways in which this could have been accomplished. They could have allowed a full party to enter the factory. They could have planted superior weaponry and shields in the early parts of the factory. They could have allowed HK-47 to sneak around the opponents and shut down the factory without any fighting at all. They could even have allowed HK-47 to just say "this is too much for me" and leave the factory again without trying to get through it, just so that the game at least would not come to a halt.

As it is, anyone who did not check out discussions of the factory without entering it, or who just built up HK-47 as they saw fit instead of along the lines that are needed to conquer the factory, or who did not use HK-47 much and thus had him still carrying inferior equipment, is totally screwed when getting forced into the factory. If they want to finish the game, they are forced to cheat.

That is the mark of bad design.

Thats just stupid. In 2004 babymode was not the hardest difficulty like it is today. Game is extremely easy regardless.

They could have allowed a full party to enter the factory.
Screwing up the entire story and logic? Probably not.
They could have planted superior weaponry and shields in the early parts of the factory.
Newsflash; There ARE. Almost immunity armor? Check. Death gun? Check. Yet you still seem to have issues? Not our fault.
They could have allowed HK-47 to sneak around the opponents and shut down the factory without any fighting at all.
We tried that and its boring, useless and against everyhing HK-47 stands for.
They could even have allowed HK-47 to just say "this is too much for me" and leave the factory again without trying to get through it, just so that the game at least would not come to a halt.
Funny, I dont recall those in the Atton, T3 or Dxun portions of the released game. And those 3 sith can be a real pain for the wrong party.

Any other things full of holes to complain about?

Funny thing is thats entirely not true. You can make 1000 repairkits early on and do it weapon and featless too. Just as you wanted. Unless you gave hk 0 repair but thats just being an idiot who cant read "this heals droids!!!"
Also infinite inventory, just equip and level him right there. No issues.

That is the mark of bad design.
Nah, just really bad spoiled devoid of challenge players who need everything lowered to their level.

Hassat Hunter, you are better than this. Take a breath and remember most people love your mod. Almost anyone still playing this game is using your mod. Let the oppinions of a gross minority go.
