Apparently pressing next turn fixes it

You simply can't see the map on turn 0, because you have no starting units. So all you see is unending fog of war.

On turn 1, a barbarian camp evolves into your first city, and you get to see stuff. But that very first turn can be a bit confusing.

Thanks aha, yeah I was worried I broke something but it turned otu all fine, loving the mod BTW! It's the only way I can play civ now.

I have similar problem. When I starts game with this mod, game ends and I see only fog of war. I can't click ,,end of turn'' because (game was immediately finished and) on that button is written ,,please wait". What I have to do?

@Nero: my guess is you aren't using the "Custom Game" option, and because of this your first city never evolves. You will see nothing but fog on turn 0, and should evolve your first city on turn 1. You don't get to pick where it evolves - it uses an Encampment as the city site.

The reason you don't evolve a city until turn 1 is that Encampments aren't placed on the map until the Tribal Barbarians turn at the very end of turn 0.

Use Custom Game instead of Setup Game when creating a new game of Barbarians Evolved.

If you cannot do this (i.e. YNAEMP) then you have to modify BEsettings.lua.

And how would you modify the BEsettings?

As for me:
- using custom game
- Can see end game map until a barbarian city evolves (when im any other civ)
- All maps/endgame screens broken

I got a similar problem, but the first encamptment hasn't evolved in turn 28...
And yes I am using the custom Game mode. But somehow the "play as barbarians" point seems to remove the encamptments (which is crap)

Hmm. I'll look into this (currently RL is very busy so it may take a little time). Play as Barbarians should not remove Encampments. Make sure in the Advanced Setup Screen that the "No Barbarians" option is not checked.
