Visual Effect
Any chance you will think about a nice visual effect for the shields? Im pretty sure the modding API is not capable of doing this, but it could be extended in the github repo to fit the needs to do so.
If you aren´t thinking about doing that sort of visual effect, is there any chance you will show us your code and what you´ve done so far? I would love to help extending it!

Some sort of faint glow when active and a pulse when hit would be cool.

If a shield hit counted as an argument that could be sent to a programming block, it
could be used to trigger a projector to flash a transparent bubble, around the ship. Or for that matter it could flash a light with a blue color, with a big enough radius that it colors the outerblocks when the ship is hit.
