Look like what your talking about?
I build with wood for my form (a lot cheaper in mats if i have to tear down and rebuild it) and i am having heck with stuff snapping in to replace the wood and the roof is totally out of the question, hate to but i might have to go with metal if there isnt a solution.
can you put a glass sloped ceiling in that spot?
The ceilings work as intended if your having issues placing our items update your mod or remove any dirty mods you have on the server. we run only our mod and we have no issues what so ever.
i too only run this one mod and i recently updated. i have no problems placing the sloped glass ceilings if i only use sloped glass ceilings. my issue arises when i try to either place a rwt sloped ceiling next to the sloped wall or placing a sloped glass ceiling in the middle of vanilla sloped ceilings like a skylight. i will try and post pictures of it soon.

any suggestions on what i can do to get a good snap?
Ok i tried an experiment, i have a slope on my deck i thought i would give it a shot, so i took the slope ceiling off that was there and tried to put one of akus down, and it wouldnt go at all, would do all the jumping around and such all ♥♥♥♥ eyed but it would align up outside of the area i wanted it, i have 2 slanted sections that the slope should mate to but it wouldnt but it would mate to 1 on the outside of the hole, so i dropped the one on the outside of the whole then the next one fell right in. Then i went to destroy the one outside of the construction and when i did they both collasped.
What i am getting at is that it seems that it does not want to snap to anything other then aku's pieces. Now i did get a glass slope to mate up but it would only mate to the slope facing south and when it did it overlaied the existing wooden instead of destroying and replacing it, so i had to manually destroy the wood slope.
ill try what you recommended later.

It was working fine before hand
Exact same problem here, started at approximately the same time. Glass still works fine.
