nightmare can be really fun...
I played over 10 hours with your character Nightmare and I found two bug and got some ideas.

Bug :

1. First, when you go in the caves during dusk and exit when night starts, night vision doesn't toggle.

2. Also, Nightmare's pet doesn't respawn... you could make a craft using like 3 nightmare fuel/configurable.

My ideas were:

1. Make nightmare friendly with Crawling horrors and terrobreaks.

2. night vision in the caves.

3. when nightmare wars the nightmare amulet, he could regenerate something like 30 hp/minute (maybe less/configurable).

4. When it's dark, he should get a healt boost.

5. you could maybe make him a weapon, like a puppet, to scare mobs away.

6. some characters are able to eat unusual stuff, nightmare could eat nightmare fuel, giving a use to nightmare fuel when spawning with it.

7. you should boost his sanity up to 300.

Please don't, why boost him when he is already op? I think he should get some traits, because nightvision is really strong.

I believe the night vision is really helpful I would rather like it that being permanent and not going away with death or with going into caves etc. - it is this character's best trait!

HI guys, i know this is old, but if you could do the part where eating nightmare fuel (or something like that ) would give him a small bonus in health
Nightvision is very helpfull but thats pretty much his only bonus if u dont count with being a monster wich already has its counters
