Took me a while to narrow an issue with long and slow saving times (over 7 minutes) to this mod and burning trees, so thought I'd open a discussion on it to help others with the same issue.

kjmci originally posted his findings in the comments section of this mod, which helped me alot. I'll quote it here so it doesn't get lost in the comments feed:

I've personally experienced the slow-save/large save-file size issue and was kindly provided a patched DLL from somebody who had the same problem. I've now assisted four other people with the same problem and this patch has worked for each of them. In each case, it drops the time it takes to save from upwards of 10 minutes to less than 10 seconds.

I'm told the issue is related to the way the mod serialises the normal/on-fire/burned status of trees, so this bug only rears its head when a city has a high volume of trees which are very close together, and a number of forest fires are burning out of control.

I'm keen to put the fixer and the current mod maintainer in touch to find a way to implement this fix into the current WS build. If anyone can connect me with BloodyPenguin or the other maintainers, I'm on Twitter and Creators Discord under the same username as here.

I can confirm having the same issue, as my output_log.txt indicates that it is this mod which is slowing down my saving times:

Clicking the "Reset all burning trees" in the mod's options instantly reduced my saving times to 1 second! Expecting the issue to return with time though, at least without a more permanent fix like suggested by kjmci.
