Under that It will have the drop down where you can select "Games" "Software" "Music" the very last option is "Downloads" select that.
There will be two sections in this window, active downloads and the one you are looking for is "Update Required (Not Queued)"
Within the "not queued" section, search for the Dota 2 Workshop items (this is specifically the maps you have tried to install in the client, don't confuse this with the beta workshop tools for mapmaking)
Locate that and press the up arrow button that reads "download now"
