I'm not sure what you mean by "painter"? Either way, we're currently having a loading screen contest to see if we can add some more images to the mod as load screens, maybe you are interested in participating? More info is here.
Sure you can, I made them mostly for the mod :D
the "army painter" I mean the layer/menu you get in the skimirst where you can see some representative ship of the selected faction and the main/secondary colors to be selected, as some cheap "color preview".
The original gives a max of 4 "buttons"/ layers or ships to choose from there, and Im not sure it could be modded or It deserves the time... to add some more for the new races... just wondering.
*I also have some other screenshots on my steam/screenshots/Homeworld remastered... If you wanna look for something "more in action" (all my last screens are of the mod with "more or less" canon colors)
Interesting the contest, as I did not noticed (and maibe will enter) wondering.. you only expect to add screenshots? wondering If other kind of images could go in, like a closer to cartoon/drawing filters on some screenshots could move the close to the cinematics videos... or maibe consider other kind of images such ships Diagrams?
PS: Also, great document you have there talking about the state of the game, makes me consider to expend some time on modeling or texturing any old ship... May I ask if maibe you share on some easy way the old models you actually use (and require rework) on any place, such moddb? (so can be used as a reference to create a new one with just the same proportions) Just to maibe try do some models?
For the contest, I think we still keep it to screenshots for now. Not everyone has the skill to make it closer to a cartoon/drawing filters as you said, but everyone can take a screenshot. More advanced images (like Legendary Fleet loading screen) may be something for in the future.
For the models, I have checked this with the guys. You can contact them via email at homeworld_9ccn@163.com , and work it out from there.
Thanks for your interest in the mod, I'll let you know when I have incorporated your screenshots into the strategy guide.
