I posted a comment earlier, but I wanted to also post a discussion to make it visible.

Im going to get straight into it. I think that it would be an extremely smart decision for Valve to craft an "Operation" based around night-time maps. Take the active duty maps that people already love, and make a night time version of them. This Dust 2 map is gorgeous! Think about what other maps could look like! Just think about how nice Inferno would look at night time! The lights from Apartments shining down into 2nd mid...

Whenever I tried to find a match for an Operation Vanguard map, I would always experience very long wait times, and almost always, the only map that I got was Season. I believe that players stayed away from the Vanguard maps, because they were new, and people did not want to spend time learning them. Well, this drastically decreased the number of people that queued for Vanguard maps, making it hard for people who DID want to play, because of long wait times.
So you are left with an Operation Vanguard, with absolutely beautiful maps, but nobody played them because of this 2-way relationship thing. A real bummer, because some of those maps were simply fantastic!

So how do you solve that problem of nobody playing Competitive on the operation maps? You take the maps that people already play, and you shift them to night time! This Dust 2 map is a great example. Instead of learning totally new maps, players will simply just need to readjust to the night time atmosphere of the new maps. This means that all of the strategies they currently use on Active Duty maps, would totally work on the night maps.

More people would play the Night Operation maps because of this. No need to relearn anything, just would give the map a very interesting visual twist, which would draw in a lot of players. This could also be a seasonal thing perhaps, because I also like Dust2 Winter, but that is a discussion for another time.

Same Maps = More players = Shorter queue times = more matches = more players get drawn in = more players buy the operation pass = more sales.

Valve this is a Win/Win, I have seen people on /r/GlobalOffensive talk about this from time to time, and I think this would satisfy a very large part of the CS:GO community.
