same problem to me too. it instantly crashes when i try to copy a texture from a ragdoll.

I need more info... What material you trying to use and on which model? Try to manually set material from default list in tool settings. What addons also installed?

Do you say even classic material tool not works? It works when this addon disabled? You see any errors in client console?

I Know the fix, You need to do -dxlevel 90 In advanced Launch Options, (Right Click Gmod, goto properties, Then goto the advance launch options, Then launch Gmod, And If it works, It should be lowered resolution, So then check that it worked by going to Options>video>advanced... And it should say DirectX Level-9.0 or something like that, Then Quit Gmod, Remove the -dxlevel 90 in the advanced options, Then you should be good to go :D

Thank you so much, this solved all of my problems I had in gmod including lamps not working correctly, decals appearing trough walls, this. I think I even have a better fps now.
