this item is a taunt only, no cosmetics to wear. You can't apply paint to a taunt in order to paint the book.
Maybe Valve would add the ability to paint it, it's not impossible.
you're right, not immpossible, but its unlikely valve would add a whole paint feature for taunts when there is only 1 that can use paint atm.
It would be cool if it did have paint, but again, its not an item seen 24/7 while playing, so even if valve does put paint on it, hardly anyone would use paint on it because its market value wouldn't increase by much.
still, it would be cool if valve did do it.
I'm not a super-master programmer but I'd say that since we've seen (accidentally) paintable weapons that importing the code to paint onto taunts would mostly involve a bit of copy/paste. If taunts become really prevalent like cosmetics have I don't think it'd be unreasonable for valve to implement the feature so long as there were a couple of taunts with paint-enabled props.
weps are a bit different, they are flat out models that can be easily re-textured.
The animation is a file that through using it, calls on a model to work. Its not going to be that easy, trust me.
