replaces medigun but no melee
ok so this might change up the medic class a little! hopefully for the better :D .

on right click the orb at the top glows a medium bright yellow and ALL surroung units heal, but at 50% of the medi heal speed!

on left click uses scepter as melee with pan stats for medic
( makes holy noises ( halleluja quoir ) )

uber DAMAGES all enemies in medic's vision with a lightning strike that removes 1/4 of health and marks them fior death for 5 seconds.

I don't know, that seems incredibly limited in its potential and it makes the weapon kinda worthless in that it really only acts as the new melee weapon. Plus, I think this is a 'Wizard' weapon, not a 'Cleric' weapon.

If this weapon replaced the Medigun, I would suggest it do this...

Heals as normal
Healing generates "spell charge" (for all intents and purposes, an Ubercharge, though perhaps usable in Medieval Mode...?) that allows the Medic to cast a spell. Once this spell is active, the Medic need not continue healing or using the staff for its benefts to continue on him or his patient.

Some ideas for spells it could cast... (not all of them, unless it could be balanced, just one)
- Phase Out - the Medic (if solo) or his patient take on an immaterial form; they can fight, but not be hit. If the recipient phases back into existence in the same place an enemy is, it deals heavy damage - maybe even outright killing them!
- Time Slow - AoE effect - Enemies caught in the AoE are slowed drastically until they leave it or the spell ends.

Just a few ideas I had.

Why the hell would you people even entertain the idea of replacing the ICONIC mediguns with a staff? This is clearly a melee weapon. And a melee weapon that heals allies in a small radius is fine... because it already exists, called the Amputator. Only difference is the Amputator needs to be activated by a taunt, making the Medic helpless for 4 sec.

Why not? The Demoman's iconic Sticky Bomb Launcher gets replaced by a shield. Sniper's iconic sniper rifles get replaced by bows. It's a small piece of what makes a subclass (although so far these ideas are more cosmetic than anything).

I'd imagine it as an Amputator reskin, that healing aura can be like magic. Would just need it's own taunt animation to make it truely unique.

^ I that if Valve were to add this, the easiest thing would to make it a reskin. Maybe a set bonus where taunting applies special effects?

Why not replacing the medigun+melee, making you use ,,magic''
It can heal like a vaccinator overheal thing, and not overheal, just like the quick-fix,
and by pressing a ecrtain button it can allow you to actually use the staff in combat,
And why not?

Okay, I got it.

It functions as a Medi-Gun, but it's ubercharge effect is basically the Warlock powerup from Mannpower. That is, while active, you get 25% damage resistence, with 50% of the damage you sustain being returned to your attackers via death-bolts.

Of course, it's also usable in Medieval Mode.
