This is likely the result of an addon conflict or too many addons loaded at once. You can verify if this is the case by temporarily running no addons except for LAM. If it works, then you know. If the issue still occurs, try performing "fresh install" process [see at bottom of description]

Navigate to: \garrysmod\data and delete:
ass_config_client.txt
ass_config_server.txt
ass_rankings.txt
and the "asslog" folder.

This is bug related to legacy versions being installed prior to v1.3 series.
If the problem persists, please let me know.

This is caused by either addon conflict, not owner status, or too many addons (issue i cannot fix, this is Garry's mod specific issue).

To check if you have owner status type ass_giveownership [name] in console. If you are already owner, either addon conflict or too many addons.

You are running a very old version of this addon.
To fix this:

Navigate to: \garrysmod\data and delete:
a[s]ss[/s]_config_client.txt
a[s]ss[/s]_config_server.txt
a[s]ss[/s]_rankings.txt
and the "a[s]ss[/s]log" folder.

Are you 100%? If without a doubt you deleted the correct files

Typically when that happens its due to having another version of ASSmod installed in \garrysmod\addons

If this is not the case it is possible you have a conflicting addon overwriting the config, or too many addons (unlikely).

Verify you are in \steamapps\common\GarrysMod
and not the old (gmod 12 and before) \steamapps\garrysmod\

I think its a conflicting addon but i have no idea which
